I left Canada, in July 2002. I flew to Seoul, Korea and later shipped myself down to the South-East coast. I arrived in a beautiful city, called Busan. A tourist and honeymoon destination, covered with beaches and mountains. As easy as it is on the eyes, beneath the surface you find its sometimes ugly differences. However, after a month I think I could say I was finally over the initial "culture-shock". I've tried bondaegee, kimchi and squid jerky. I've laid on some beaches and I've removed my shoes for meals. I've learned to like bibimbap, but I still haven't felt comfortable with the over-powering heat & humidity. I'm trying to adjust and trying to fit in. I'm doing everything that I can... "foreignicating" Busan.
